THE THREE CANDIDATES VYING TO BECOME THE NEXT 4TH DISTRICT SUPERVISOR IN SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY SQUARED OFF IN A FORUM ON SATURDAY IN NIPOMO.. ARROYO GRANDE CITY COUNCILMAN JIM GUTHRIE, LUCIA MAR SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER AND COUNTY PARKS COMMISSIONER PAUL TEXIERA AND RANCHER MIKE ZIMMERMAN SEEMED TO AGREE ON A LOT OF ISSUES INCLUDING KEEPING THE OCEANO DUNES OPEN TO OFF ROAD VEHICLES DESPITE A REPORT THAT SHOWS THE ACTIVITY COULD BE CONTRIBUTING TO AIR POLLUTION ON THE NIPOMO MESA.. THEY SAID THE REPORT SHOULD BE CLOSELY EXAMINED.. ALL THREE ALSO OPPOSE PLANS FOR OIL DRILLING IN THE HUASNA VALLEY BECAUSE OF CONCERNS WITH CLEANUP AND LARGE TRUCKS TRANSPORTING THE OIL COULD CAUSE TRAFFIC PROBLEMS.. GUTHRIE, TEIXERA AND ZIMMERMAN ALL CLAIMED TO BE THE MOST FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE IN THIS YEARS RACE TO REPLACE KATCHO ACHADJIAN WHO IS NOW RUNNING FOR STATE ASSEMBLY..
