A LOCAL ASSEMBLYMAN SAYS HE WILL BE VOTING NO TO CONFIRM SENATOR ABEL MALDONADO AS CALIFORNIA'S NEXT LT. GOVERNOR. ASSEMBLYMAN PEDRO NAVA IN A GUEST COMMENTARY WITH THE " MONTEREY HERALD " SAYS HE IS BASING HIS DECISION ON 150 VOTES THAT MALDONADO MADE WHILE REPRESENTING THE CENTRAL COAST INCLUDING VOTING AGAINST PROVIDING FARMWORKERS WITH NECCESSARY PAYROLL INFORMATION SO THEY COULD BETTER PURSUE EMPLOYERS WHO FAILED TO APPROPRIATELY CALCULATE THEIR PAY.. NAVA SAYS MALDONADO ALSO VOTED AGAINST SINGLE HEALTH PAY COVERAGE IN THIS STATE AND VOTED AGAINST AB 32, CALIFORNIA'S LANDMARK GLOBAL WARMING LEGISLATION.. NAVA IS EXPECTED TO JOIN OTHER DEMOCRATS IN A PRESS CONFERENCE TODAY STATING THEIR OPPOSITION TO MALDONADO AS LT. GOVERNOR.
