A CHALLENGER HAS EMERGED IN THE RACE FOR SECOND DISTRICT SUPERVISOR IN SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY.. MARSHALL OCHYLSKI WHO IS AN ATTORNEY AND PRESIDENT OF THE LOS OSOS COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTRICT WILL RUN AGAINST BRUCE GIBSON IN THE JUNE ELECTION.. OCHYLSKI SPECIALIZES IN CIVIL LAW WITH AN EMPHASIS ON LAND USE, ZONING AND REAL ESTATE LAW.. GIBSON, WHO IS A GEOPHYSICIST AND A RANCHER, IS FINISHING HIS FIRST TERM ON THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS.. TODAY IS THE DEADLINE TO FILE FOR POLITICAL OFFICE FOR THE JUNE 8TH ELECTION.. THE DEADLINE WILL BE EXTENDED UNTIL NEXT WEDNESDAY IN THE CASE WHERE AN INCUMBENT ISN'T RUNNING WHICH INCLUDES THE RACE FOR SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY SHERIFF SINCE PAT HEDGES IS RETIRING.. THERE ARE EIGHT CANDIDATES IN THIS RACE SO FAR.
