Man Convicted of killing Joshua Houlgate Asking for New Trial

ONE OF THE MEN CONVICTED OF KILLING JOSHUA HOULGATE OVER TWO YEARS AGO IN SAN LUIS OBISPO HAS FILED A MOTION FOR A NEW TRIAL. A JURY CONVICTED PATRICK WOLLET AND CHAD WESTBROOK LAST JUNE FOR KILLING HOULGATE AT A MOBILE HOME ON ORCUTT ROAD IN DECEMBER OF 2007.. WOLLET'S NEW ATTORNEY TOM MC CORMICK SAID THAT THE REPRESENTATION OF HIS CLIENT'S FORMER ATTORNEY-- GREG JACOBSON WILL BE AN ISSUE AT THE HEARING SCHEDULED FOR TODAY.. JACOBSON PLANS TO TESTIFY THAT HE ADEQUATELY REPRESENTED WOLLET WHILE MC CORMICK PLANS TO CALL WITNESSES OF HIS OWN.. WOLLET WAS SENTENCED TO 67 YEARS TO LIFE IN PRISON FOR SHOOTING HOULGATE WHILE WOLLET STRUCK THE VICTIM AND SARAH LONSINGER-- REY WITH A BASEBALL BAT AFTER THE TWO HAD A SEXUAL ENCOUNTER AND THE WOMAN HAD BEEN ENGAGED TO WOLLET'S BROTHER AT THE TIME..
