Couple Pleads Guilty to Hit and Run Crash that Killed Santa Barbara Woman Last Year

THE MARRIED COUPLE CHARGED WITH A HIT AND RUN CRASH THAT KILLED A SANTA BARBARA WOMAN NEAR THE U-S-C- CAMPUS LAST YEAR HAVE PLEADED NO CONTEST.. 31 YEAR OLD CLAUDIA CABRERA AND 33 YEAR OLD JOSUE LUNA ENTERED THEIR PLEAS JUST AS JURY SELECTION WAS ABOUT TO BEGIN.. PROSECUTERS SAY THAT CABRERA WAS BEHIND THE WHEEL ON MARCH 29TH WHEN SHE STRUCK 18 YEAR OLD ADRIANNA BACHAN AND HER FRIEND 19 YEAR OLD MARCUS GARFINKLE WHO WERE BOTH IN A CROSSWALK.. BACHAN WAS KILLED WHILE GARFINKLE REMAINED ON THE HOOD OF THE COUPLE'S CAR UNTIL LUNA GOT OUT AND PLACED HIM ON THE GROUND BEFORE THE COUPLE TOOK OFF.. CABRERA WAS DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED LICENSE BECAUSE SHE FAILED TO PAY SEVERAL PARKING TICKETS AND THE COUPLE ALSO HAVE TWO CHILDREN... BOTH PLEADED GUILTY TO HIT AND RUN INFLICTING GREAT BODILY INJURY WHILE CABRERA ALSO ENTERED THE SAME PLEA TO MISDEMEANOR VEHICULAR MANSLAUGHTER AND FACES UP TO 8 YEARS IN PRISON.. LUNA FACES UP TO 7 YEARS WHEN THEY ARE SENTENCED ON MAY 24TH..
