Judge Could Make Ruling Today on Wording of Proposition 14—Open Primary Initiative

A JUDGE COULD ANOUNCE TODAY WHETHER THE WORDING OF PROPOSITION 14--- OR THE OPEN PRIMARY INITIATIVE IN CALIFORNIA WILL CHANGE FOR THE JUNE 8TH ELECTION. A SCHOOL EMPLOYEE UNION FILED A LAWSUIT LAST WEEK CHALLENGING THE CURRENT LANGUANGE HOWEVER STATE SENATOR ABEL MALDONADO WAS IN COURT TRYING TO PREVENT THAT FROM HAPPENING.. THE LEGISLATURE PUT THE MEASURE ON THE BALLOT IN ORDER TO SECURE A BUDGET VOTE FROM SENATOR MALDONADO.. IF APPROVED PROPOSITION 14 WOULD CHANGE PRIMARIES SO THAT THE TOP TWO VOTE GETTERS, REGARDLESSS OF PARTY AFFILIATION, WOULD ADVANCE TO THE GENERAL ELECTION..
