MEMBERS OF " TECH NETWORKING " SENT RSVP'S VIA FACEBOOK TO ATTEND THE RALLY WITH SIGNS AND T SHIRTS THAT RED " MAKE SLO FAST " AS THEY MARCHED DOWNTOWN HOPING IT WILL BRING A NEW FIBER OPTICS NETWORK THAT GOOGLE SAYS WOULD BE 100 TIMES FASTER COMPARED TO WHAT PEOPLE ARE USING NOW..
GOOGLE WOULD MAKE THE HIGH SPEED INTERNET AVAILABLE AT A COMPETITIVE PRICE FOR 50 THOUSAND PEOPLE IN A TEST MARKET.. THE DEADLINE FOR CITIES TO APPLY IS MARCH 26TH AND IT IS POSSIBLE THAT ONLY ONE WINNER WILL BE SELECTED LATER THIS YEAR.
