Three Arrested After Man is Assaulted with Tire Irons in Goleta Supermarket Parking Lot

THREE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ARRESTED AFTER A MAN WAS ASSAULTED WITH TIRE IRONS IN THE PARKING LOT OF A SANTA BARBARA COUNTY SUPERMARKET. IT HAPPENED TUESDAY NIGHT IN THE 100 BLOCK OF TURNPIKE ROAD IN GOLETA, AFTER THE 44-YEAR-OLD MALE VICTIM FROM CARPENTERIA HAD ARRIVED WITH A FEMALE COMPANION AND HAD PLANNED TO GO SHOPPING; BUT WHILE IN THE PARKING LOT HE GOT INTO A VERBAL EXCHANGE WHICH TURNED PHYSICAL WITH 21-YEAR-OLD GIOVANNI ACEVES. AT ONE POINT, ACEVES' 51-YEAR-OLD MOTHER AND ANOTHER MAN, 33-YEAR-OLD CHARLES DORADO JOINED IN THE FIGHT AND BOTH HAD TIRE IRONS. GIOVANNI ACEVES IS ACCUSED OF SLASHING TIRES ON THE VICTIM'S CAR WITH A KNIFE. THE THREE SUSPECTS LEFT THE SCENE BUT ALL WERE ARRESTED DURING A TRAFFIC STOP. THE VICTIM REFUSED MEDICAL TREATMENT.
