San Jose Man Charged with Impersonating a C.H.P. Officer in Atascadero Pleads Not Guilty

A SAN JOSE MAN ARRESTED ON THE CENTRAL COAST FOR IMPERSONATING A C.H.P. OFFICER HAS PLEADED NOT GUILTY TO SIX CHARGES. 27-YEAR-OLD MARK POLINI WAS ARRESTED ON JULY 19TH AFTER AN OFFICER PULLED HIM OVER WHILE POLINI WAS DRIVING AN UNMARKED BLACK 2001 FORD CROWN VICTORIA NEAR A GAS STATION. POLINI CONSENTED TO A SEARCH OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH REVEALED A LOADED PISTOL, HANDCUFFS, AND TWO BADGES; WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS OUTFITTED WITH A DASHBOARD CAMERA, FRONT AND REAR STROBE LIGHTS AND A MOBILE DATA COMPUTER. POLINI IS ACCUSED OF FOLLOWING A 17-YEAR-OLD GIRL HOME IN SAN JOSE AND TALKING TO HER IN THE DRIVEWAY OF HER HOME ABOUT A TRAFFIC INFRACTION HE SAID SHE WAS INVOLVED IN. ATASCADERO POLICE ALSO FOUND A DIGITAL FILE CONTAINING MORE THAN 1900 IMAGES OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY ON A LAPTOP FOUND INSIDE THE MOCK POLICE CAR, AND POLINO, WHO WAS OUT ON BAIL, WAS ARRESTED AGAIN. HE IS ALSO ACCUSED OF BEING IN POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY INCLUDING JEWELRY AND COINS.
