Composite Sketch Released of Suspect in Refugio Road Shooting

THE SANTA BARBARA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT HAS RELEASED A COMPOSITE SKETCH OF THE SUSPECT WANTED FOR SHOOTING A MAN ON REFUGIO ROAD LAST THURSDAY. THE 27-YEAR-OLD MALE VICTIM REPORTED THAT HE WAS FLAGGED DOWN BY THE SUSPECT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHO SAID THAT HIS TRUCK HAD OVERHEATED AND THE VICTIM, WHO HAD WATER, OFFERED TO DRIVE THE SUSPECT BACK TO HIS VEHICLE. ONCE BOTH MEN GOT OUT, THE SUSPECT DEMANDED MONEY AND WHEN THE VICTIM SAID HE DIDN'T HAVE ANY, THE SUSPECT TOOK OUT A HANDGUN AND SHOT THE VICTIM IN THE LEG. THE SUSPECT TOOK OFF IN A BRIGHT RED AMERICAN MADE PICK UP TRUCK BUILT IN 2005 OR LATER WITH NO CAMPER SHELL. THE VICTIM WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT OF NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURIES. THE SUSPECT IS DESCRIBED AS A WHITE MALE IN HIS MID TO LATE 30'S , 5'10" TO 6' TALL, 175 TO 180 POUNDS, LIGHT BROWN HAIR AND WEARING BLUE JEANS AND FADED MAROON COLORED SHIRT.
