Charges have been filed against a man in connection with the death of 26 year old Allison Meadows, one of two women reported injured on East Valley Road in Montecito. Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce Dudley announced that Lanie Tyrone Richardson has been charged with second degree murder, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license following a previous DUI conviction. The CHP reports that a good samaritan, who later turned out to be Richardson, took Meadows and 25 year old Lindsay Keebler to Cottage Hospital last Wednesday. Meadows died from her injuries, while Keebler has been released. Richardson also has three previous DUI convictions. He remains behind bars on $500,000 bail and his arraignment has been rescheduled for June 20th.
