Six People Arrested, Caught Offloading about 1400 Pounds of Marijuana from Panga Boat Off of Santa Barbara County Coast
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department arrested six people after finding them offloading 1400 pounds of marijuana from a panga boat near El Capitan State Beach. It happened Friday morning with the help of several other agencies, and was the result of part of an ongoing investigation into the illegal trafficking of narcotics from Mexico. Those arrested included two people from Mexico and four from Southern California, and all were booked into Santa Barbara County Jail on drug charges. The approximate street value of the marijuana was reported to be $4.2 million dollars.
