Highway 101 Gaviota Detour: Most Traffic Lanes Expected to be Back Open Today
Cal Trans says they have completed emergency roadwork near Gaviota with most traffic lanes expected back open today. The northbound lanes were shut down starting July 10th to replace an underground culvert and while the repair work has been completed, one northbound lane of the 101 is expected to remain closed during weekday hours from 7:00 am until 3:30 pm until the end of next week, August 3rd, while cleanup and transition work to restore the original traffic condition continues. Motorists should expect only minor delays during this time. The CHP will continue with extra patrols in the area to maintain traffic safety.
