Panga Boat with About 5,000 Pounds of Marijuana Found Off Santa Barbara County Coast, 13 People Arrested

US Border Patrol agents have arrested 13 people after a panga boat containing about 5,000 pounds of marijuana was found off the coast of Santa Barbara County. State Parks officials spotted it around 1:30 am on Thursday near El Capitan and Refugio State beaches. Border Patrol agents arrested 13 people on the boat, 4 of which were US citizens, 8 from Mexico and 1 from El Salvador. The Coast Guard, Border Patrol, Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement are assisting in the ongoing investigation.
