School Back in Session for the Santa Maria Bonita School District Today
It's back to school today for students in the Santa Maria-Bonita School District today. Elementary and junior high school students will be in class after taking a few months off. Santa Maria-Bonita is one of the largest school districts on the Central Coast with enrollment expected to surpass 15,000 students possibly this year. Parents are also reminded to make sure children have a TDAP booster, which helps protect against whooping cough if students are entering the 7th or 12th grade. The immunization is required before they are allowed to come to class. Students who attend the Orcutt Academy Charter High School are expected back in class on Wednesday, while students in the Lompoc Unified School District return for the new school year next Wednesday, August 22nd.
