Man Arrested for DUI Following Two Vehicle Crash on Southbound Highway 101 Near Santa Maria Way Exit

One man is behind bars for a suspected DUI crash involving two vehicles on Highway 101 in Santa Maria. The California Highway Patrol and emergency crews responded to the south side of the highway near the Santa Maria Way exit at around 1:30 pm on Tuesday after the driver of a pick up truck crashed into a van which spun out. The pick up went off the road, down an embankment and through a fence. One person in the van was taken to Marian Medical Center with minor injuries. The name of the driver arrested was not immediately released.
