Jury Selected in Trial for Current and Former St. Joseph High School Administrators Charged with Failing to Immediately Report Suspected Alleged Sexual Assault Involving Student
A jury is now seated in the trial for the current Principal of St. Joseph High School, Joseph Myers and the former Dean of Students at the school, John Walker. They are facing midemeanor charges of failing to immediately report an alleged sexual assault involving a student. The jury selection process wrapped up Wednesday one day after it started. Both Myers and Walker have pleaded not guilty to the charges. Opening statements are expected to take place Monday morning before Superior Court Judge Edward Bullard in Santa Maria. The case will be back in court Friday in which time pretrial motions will be addressed.
