Quite a number of people reported feeling an earthquake on the Central Coast. The U.S. Geological Survey reported a magnitude 5.3 quake that struck at 11:55 pm on Saturday and was centered 16 miles northeast of King City in Monterey County, which we estimate to be nearly 70 miles from Paso Robles. The quake struck near the San Andreas Fault and was followed by at least four aftershocks that were greater than a magnitude 2.5 incuding a 3.1 and a 3.7. Some people in San Luis Obispo County, Santa Maria and even as far south as Los Alamos reported feeling the initial quake. So far there have been no reports of any damage of injuries.
