Demolition Finally Starts on Former Gottschalk's Building at Santa Maria Town Center Mall

After years of waiting, demolition is finally taking place on the former Gottschalk's building at the Santa Maria Town Center Mall. The mall's new owners are planning to move ahead with building a 14 multi-screen movie theater with stadium seating once the building is torn down.
The new owners of the mall are currently negotiating leases with nationally known retailers and restaurants hoping to bring them to town.
