Updated Figures Given for Isla Vista Halloween Enforcement this Past Weekend

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department has released updated figures from the Halloween enforcement in Isla Vista. From the period of Friday through Sunday, there were 196 jail bookings, 249 citations given, 71 medical calls and 19 search and rescue calls. One person sustained a severe neck/head injury after falling from a rooftop, but there were no reported falls off Isla Vista cliffs. DUI saturation patrols and stepped up enforcement by the California Highway Patrol on Friday and Saturday around Isla Vista and Goleta led to 12 DUI arrests and 365 citations.
It will be several weeks before the cost of the weekend operation can be determined.
